No internal mic sounds and no external mic sounds. Outside of the three musical recordings that Cannon seems to have archived on the internal memory, there was no audio file of any type to be found.Ĭarl and Jeff-When I switch the Power Director sound option to 5.1, no sound plays at all. I recorded a short clip and looked at the files on the internal memory. James-I took out all memory cards and formatted the internal memory. So here are the results of exploring the options you suggested. Does anyone have ideas on what to check or what to do? So tonight I uninstalled PD10 and installed the trial version of PD12, figuring this had to be the answer. This problem was present in PD10 for 1.5 years. My PC (where the problem is) is a fast and fairly new Windows 7 machine and works fine in every other respect. The external mic audio works fine if I use my MacBook Pro video editing software (iMovie). So the audio is clearly in the file, it just does not seem to be recognized by PD 10 or 12. Again, if I watch the video on the camera, the all audio is present and I can clearly hear the difference between the internal mic and my high quality shotgun mic. The audio in those parts of the recording where the external mic was plugged in is missing. When I download the file, the audio from the internal mic is there and sounds fine. I can plug in and unplug my external microphone during a recording. It is like the audio part of the file just disappears. No audio signal shows in the audio track either. mts file using Pixela Video Browser and/or PowerDirector 10 or 12, and play the video file, there is no audio. When I record video using my external microphone, the audio sounds just fine if I play the video back on the video camera.
I have a Cannon Vixia HF S30 Video camera.

The problem occurred on PD10 and now is occurring on a fresh install of PD12. This audio problem has been going on for 1.5 years, and I have three days into trying to solve this problem.
